Walking with Our Confirmands

August 19, 2026

The Confirmation Team is excited to share some wonderful news: we have eleven confirmands this year! God is at work in the lives of our youth and in the life of our church. Confirmation is an important season in the faith journey of our young people—and it is a journey that involves our whole congregation.

Exploring Faith Together

Confirmation gives our youth an opportunity to explore what they believe about God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit and to deepen their own relationship with God. Together, they will ask questions, study Scripture, learn about worship and the sacraments, discover what it means to belong to a community of faith, and explore how God may be calling them to live out their faith in the world.

Our eleven confirmands are Josh, Rhodes, Haley, Wyatt, Charlie, Lian, Sarah, Annie, Gabe, Annabelle, and Lena.

Two Groups, One Journey

Josh and Rhodes began their confirmation journey in January and are now freshmen in high school. This fall, they will complete the remaining workshops alongside the larger confirmation group and will be confirmed during the Youth Service on November 15.

For our other nine confirmands, the journey will continue throughout the year as they participate in worship, outreach, fellowship, and other aspects of the life of our church. They will be confirmed on April 11.

How We Can Walk Alongside Them

Confirmation isn’t something our youth do alone. As a congregation, we have an important role in their journey as we nurture and encourage them in the Christian faith.

So, introduce yourself. Learn their names. Ask them what they are discovering. Encourage them when you see them participating in worship or serving in the community. Most importantly, pray for them.

Growing in Faith Together

As these eleven young people explore their faith, may we walk alongside them with curiosity, encouragement, and love. And perhaps, as they wrestle with what they believe and what it means to follow Jesus, their questions will invite all of us to explore our own faith a little more deeply.
