The Holy Spirit is at work in our congregation, bringing new energy, creativity, and possibilities to our Adult Christian Education ministry.
A New Team Takes Shape
One sign of that new energy came when God called Mary Margaret Evans to serve as an elder on Session. Mary Margaret brings a strong passion for Adult Christian Education and, in conversation with the Christian Education Committee, expressed a desire to serve in that area of ministry.
Working with the committee, she has now helped form an Adult Christian Education Subcommittee. The subcommittee currently includes Jim Kirkpatrick, Ed Chamberlain, Mary Margaret Evans, and Pastor Pam.

More Than Filling a Calendar
The purpose of this new subcommittee is about more than simply filling the calendar with classes. We want to publicize the wonderful opportunities already available, listen to our congregation about what people are curious about and what they need in this season of their lives, and listen creatively for how the Holy Spirit is calling us to nurture and deepen our faith together.
That might mean Bible studies and theology, but it might also mean conversations about current issues, faith and culture, spiritual practices, Presbyterian and church history, relationships and family life, aging, vocation, justice, or the questions we find ourselves wrestling with in everyday life.
Some opportunities may be traditional Sunday morning classes; others might be short-term gatherings, weekday conversations, special speakers, field trips, or something we haven’t imagined yet.
A Place for Questions and Connection
Most importantly, we want Adult Christian Education to be a place where questions are welcomed, relationships are formed, faith is deepened, and we continue discovering what it means to follow the way of Jesus with revolutionary hope and love in the world today.
