Gathering Spaces: Richmond Road Streetscape

September 23, 2022

The Fall Town Hall Meeting on October 8 will be a little different this year, with a facilitated discussion exploring revitalizing some key gathering spaces at the church. The three areas we will contemplate are the Richmond Road streetscape, the grounds and entrance to the building from Prince George Street, and interior spaces like the rear welcome lobby and Stevenson Hall. This Richmond Road streetscape description is the first of three installments.

Richmond Road Streetscape

What is included in the Richmond Road Streetscape?

The landscape along Richmond Road embracing our Sanctuary, Stevenson Hall and other green spaces like the courtyard and the herb garden.

What are the objectives of these potential improvements?

  • To project a welcoming spirit through revitalized landscaping,
  • To improve access,
  • To provide space to engage in outdoor WPC activities and programs,
  • To create spaces for special social gatherings,
  • To accommodate additional outdoor meeting and fellowship space,
  • To increase the walkability of our grounds, and
  • To provide an outdoor sanctuary for visitors and passersby to rest in quiet contemplation.
