Gathering Spaces: Prince George Street View and Entrance

October 07, 2022

During the Town Hall meeting on October 8,  a facilitated discussion is planned about how to revitalize some of the most visible areas of our church. The three areas we will contemplate are the Richmond Road streetscape, the grounds and entrance to the building from Prince George Street, and interior spaces like the rear Welcome Lobby and Stevenson Hall. This Prince George Street description  is the third of three installments.

Prince George Street View

Objectives for Prince GEORGE St. and Rear Entrance Changes

  • Project welcoming and inviting presence from the street through to the rear lobby,
  • Provide beautiful, functional outdoor spaces for seating and play,
  • Create gracious walkways from back to front through herb garden and from parking lot to the building,
  • Improve entrance access and safety,
  • Provide comfortable areas for waiting, greeting and conversation at the portico and inside the rear lobby.

A View from Prince George Street

The picture above is the view from the corner on Prince George St. next to the Book Store W&M Spirit Store. On Saturday, we will explore opportunities to make this view welcoming and inviting, and how this space can be transformed to promote our ministries and events to the community.

Moving closer to the building, we will consider opportunities to make our walkways, playground and back door entrance more appealing, functional and accessible.

Join the Gathering Spaces team at the Town Hall Meeting Saturday, October 8 in Stevenson Hall at 10am. Your ideas, suggestions, and questions are important as we listen for how God is calling us to be good stewards of this space.
