The Present Word (aka Alpha) adult Sunday School class has an interesting study planned for the fall quarter. Under the title "God's Exceptional Choice," lessons from both the Old and New Testaments will trace the whole arc of salvation history by looking at people God has chosen to be a part of His plan.
The September unit, based in Genesis, is "God Calls Abraham's Family." Here we will particularly look at the Lord's choice of Abraham, of Jacob, and of Judah to play major roles. In October our unit is "Out of Slavery into Nationhood," where we will see God's choice of Moses to lead the Hebrews to freedom, Gideon to be a judge, and Saul (and later David) to be kings of Israel.
Finally the November study is "We are God's Artwork." Here using texts from the Epistle to the Ephesians, we will look at how God chooses believers such as the Ephesians (and even us) to be His ambassadors to the World.
Our class uses the "Present Word" denominational curriculum, based on the Uniform series of Sunday School lessons. We are led by a rotating team who emphasize discussion and sharing.
The class meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays in room 011 on the lower level of WPC. The class also is available via Zoom.
