Presbyterian Women (PW) is a key component in the life and ministry at WPC. Members of our coordinating team are a close-knit group who work throughout the year to develop engaging programs and support the growth and vitality of PW.. We are recruiting for several committee positions for the 2022/2023 season (September to May). Are you in the right place at the right time? Please give prayerful consideration to serving in one of these positions.
Nominating/Search Committee
Do you have a special skill that helps match the RIGHT volunteer for the RIGHT job? Are you outgoing enough to give someone a call (or a text, email, or Facebook message) and ask? The Nominating/Search committee is responsible for filling six spots on the PWCT for the following year (so 2023/2024 for you!): Moderator, Vice Moderator, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, and Nominating/Search Committee (yes, you have to find your own replacement!). These positions can serve for two years, so you might not have to find someone to fill ALL six. And you have almost an entire year to work your magic!
Hospitality
Are you a party planner? Do you adore thinking about table decorations and menu planning? We are looking for several people to fill this committee. The main responsibilities are planning the menu, setting up and cleaning up (with the assistance of volunteer PW Circle members, who serve on a rotting basis) for a fall (end of October), early spring (March/April), and late spring (late May) gathering or luncheon. Grab a friend and volunteer together!
Membership
Do you love talking about Presbyterian Women? Are you adept at engaging new members, and making them feel welcome at ANY PW events and Circle meetings? Do you love meeting new people? The role of the Membership Chair is to attend the new member gatherings, representing PW, and be able to discuss what we do and who we are with the new women in the class. A follow up phone call or email would be appreciated, too, to make sure that we are not missing any women!
Program
Are you “connected” in Williamsburg? Can you think of some great people and/or programs that would make fantastic presentations? The role of the Program Chair is to plan a great presentation for our fall (late October) and spring (late May) gatherings or luncheons. You would need to contact and confirm a speaker, and be the liaison between the speaker and the Presbyterian Women. You would also need to work with our Director of Communications and Media to make sure the publicity for the event is secured, and that it is on the church calendar. An honorarium is donated to the program that the speaker represents.
