Our winter/spring season is taking shape! We’ve had such a fun time since we kicked off our fall season, with the successful inaugural Family Pizza Night, the amazing Trunk or Treat (even at 80 degrees!), and the Advent Celebration before the Williamsburg Christmas parade! The fun isn’t going to stop going into 2024–we have several fun activities and events planned for the winter/spring months.
In January, we celebrated how our bodies are “fearfully and wonderfully made” in God’s image. Rebecca Elton led the kids through several activities, including a scavenger hunt in the sanctuary, to teach us many fun facts about how we are all unique and amazing!
In February, we are rebranding the always-popular “Favorite Things Party,” which usually takes place in December during Advent, and moving it to February as a “Galentine’s Day” Favorite Things Party. This will take place on Friday, February 16, at 5:30pm. Originally, this was a “Moms-only” event. But, as with ALL WPC Families events, everyone is welcome! Dinner is provided for all registered participants, and childcare and dinner for elementary age and younger will be available for this night.
Mark your calendars now for Saturday, March 23, at 10am, when the second annual “Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Fling” will take place at WPC. All kids elementary age and younger will enthusiastically look for candy- and treat-filled eggs. We will hunt outside if we have good weather this day, but we’ll be able to move inside if the weather is not cooperative. We will also have some Lent and Easter-themed activities, likely including snacks, to encourage fellowship among our church families.
April will bring us back to our annual Paint Night. While still keeping with the “child- and beginner-friendly” artist level, plans are forming to move away from the traditional 11x14 canvas, and to try something different this year. Join us on Monday, April 22, at 5:30pm. Dinner will be available for all, and childcare will be available for children 3 and under.
As always, WPC Families events are kid- and family- friendly, but all activities and events are open to all church members. This is a great way to get to know the younger members of our church, and their families!
