Earth Care Living Shoreline Picnic

Join the picnic potluck sponsored by the Earth Care committee to personally enjoy God’s bounty of living water that is the York River. This is a family-friendly event that will include a ranger talk and tour of the Living Shoreline project in the park. Stay and take advantage of kayaking opportunities in the marshes.
The picnic will be held at Shelter 3 beginning at noon. Our Earth Care team will supply sandwiches, fruit and vegetable trays, and water. Optionally, we invite participants to bring any sides or desserts to share.
To prepare, please note the following:

There is a $5 entrance fee to the park

We have the picnic shelter beginning at 12pm, but you are welcome to come early and stay late to enjoy the walking trails and playground.

The ranger talk and tour will begin at 2pm.

Canoes and kayaks are available for rent. Information about the park and recreational activities can be found here.

The park is designated as a Chesapeake Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve where freshwater and saltwater meet, developing a unique ecosystem in tidewater Virginia.
