Spring Roundtable Pulpit begins in May 2024
The Roundtable Pulpit is a group of lay persons that meets each week with. Pastor John. The 5-week session will be held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30pm, to discuss the biblical text for the upcoming week's sermon.
You do not need any particular qualifications or be a biblical scholar to be a part of the group. As a participant, you will have an opportunity to learn about sermon formation and assist in widening the pastor's perspective, promoting collaboration and public forum of theology in the pulpit. From the group's conversation, a sermon will be written and preached by Pastor John the following Sunday. It is believed that out of this conversation, a richer, more meaningful and relevant witness to the power and presence of God in our lives and in our world will be possible. Sermons will be posted by title under their corresponding date after they have been preached and comments or reactions to them are always welcome.
The group will be limited to 15 members, however the group changes regularly in order to add diversity to the insights that are provided to the preacher, so future sessions are open to interested participants and the meeting day and time will rotate.
