Keeping up with all of the news, events and opportunities to participate in WPC activities can be daunting. We don't want you to miss out! We are in the process of re-organizing our email communications to keep you well-informed and aware of how to get more information when you need it. This overview is to help you know what to expect in your inbox and when, and to provide guidance for making sure you receive email messages according to your preferences.
Types of Emails
The church office sends out three different types of emails:
- "Looking Ahead" News & Events (Weekly)
- "Kirk Connections" Newsletter (Four issues each year)
- Special Notices (Messages from pastors, Session or office, and member death notifications)
We now have a Preference Center managed through our MailChimp email service. Everyone in the WPC family who has an email registered with our online directory is automatically enrolled to receive all three types of emails from the church office. If at any time you would prefer to change your preferences, you can do that using the "update your preferences" link at the bottom of every email that we send.
"Looking Ahead" Email
This weekly email is published each Friday and contains information about the Sunday worship service, upcoming events, and timely news and quick updates about happenings at WPC. Deadline for submission for each Friday email is by noon the Monday preceding the email. This email is event-focused, but accommodations can be made for stories that don’t fit with the Kirk Connections timeline (see below).
"Kirk Connections" Newsletter
The purpose of this newsletter is to provide a flexible platform for communicating stories about the life of WPC, insights about groups and ministries, and in-depth updates on long-term projects. Kirk Connections will include messages from the ministerial staff, articles about our ministries, stories about and from WPC family members, and regular information columns. As a digital publication, the content can include written stories and articles, graphics, video, and audio podcasts.
There will be four issues of the on-line publication each year, following the flow of the church calendar:
