Sunday School is for Godly Play
This Advent, children will enjoy a special Godly Play series during Sunday School. Godly Play is a curriculum exploring the mystery of God's presence in our lives through storytelling and wondering. For the four Sundays of Advent, all children Pre-K through 5th grade will gather together to hear part of the Christmas story told in the method of Godly Play. After the story, children will go to their classrooms to further explore the story through “wondering questions” and themed crafts. Parents will also get a parent page each week for those who would like to continue the week’s story at home.
Annual Christmas Pageant
In addition to Godly Play, children also have the opportunity to learn about the Christmas story by being part of the Christmas Eve Pageant! All children are invited to participate. Rehearsals will take place on the four Sundays of Advent during the Sunday School hour. If your child would like to participate, but is unable to come to rehearsals, please let me know!
December 8 Family Christmas Workshop & Christmas Parade Tent
And finally, please come by the church on Sunday afternoon, December 8. Starting at 3:30pm, we will have a family Christmas craft workshop with age-appropriate crafts for pre-schoolers through teens and beyond. Beginning at 4, our hospitality tent will be set up outside on the Williamsburg Christmas Parade route, welcoming all with hot chocolate, goodies, and a terrific parade-watching location.
