Community Education

You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid - Matthew 5:14

We believe in providing educational opportunities to our entire community. We invite you to join us for any of our regular weekly education events, but we also want to highlight some of the special events we hold with the entire greater Williamsburg area in mind.

  • Mothers Of Preschoolers (MOPS) Program -For moms and their kids ages birth through kindergarten. Meets once a month on Thursday mornings, 9:30-11:30am. From September to May, activities and speakers are planned to assist mothers at this critical phase in their lives. Contact: Jodie Davis, Director of Childcare.
  • Advent Celebration - Following the Williamsburg Christmas Parade come inside and join us as we enjoy hot chocolate, coffee, and crafts together. There will be music and merrymaking for all ages.
  • Supper Seminars - Each winter we invite speakers to come and share with us on topics that affect all of us. We are considering upcoming seminars including looks at Race, Worldchanging, and Parenting.
  • Presbyterian Men's Breakfast - It's not just for men! (they do the prep for all of us!) 8am, typically 1st Saturday of each month, October through May. $5 contribution for the best bargain breakfast in town! Interesting and exciting speakers. All men and women are welcome Contact: Tom Bozek
  • Spirituality Workshops - These workshops pop up throughout the year and look at things such as creative ways to pray, art journaling, and health and wholeness.
  • Prayer and Support Groups - We have a number of regular groups meeting around subjects such as grief, caregiving, and parenting. We are always adding as needs arise. Check the calendar for more information or contact "A" Williams.
  • Trunk or Treat - We host a Trunk or Treat on the Sunday closest to Halloween in our parking lot and invite all ages to come join the fun.
  • Blessing Services - We host a number of blessing services throughout the year including blessing of bicycles, bookbags, caregiver hands, and animals.
  • College Life Skills - We offer classes on everything from cooking to car repair seasonally for W&M students.
  • Family Retreat - This fall we are offering a daylong family retreat where we will look at books, spirituality, and action that we all can take as families to make this world a better place.
