We aim to welcome each and every individual into a friendly age-appropriate environment where they can learn about about our God who is Love and about who they are in God. For more information contact: Adrian Williams, Director of Education Ministries.
Part of maturing in the faith is learning about the stories of scripture and about our faith traditions. Each Sunday morning we hold children’s classes for ages 3 through 5th grade. These classes are broken up into age groups with curriculum specifically selected for that developmental stage. We use Spark House curriculum for all our Pre-K and elementary age classes. In different ways, each age level includes content from Reformed creeds, confessions, catechisms and statements of faith. All curricula tell the stories of our faith in a variety of ways to allow for different learning styles. This helps all participants develop a common understanding of how we interpret the Word of God and apply that understanding in our daily lives.
On some occasions we hold special classes on certain aspects of the faith. These include classes focused on Worship, the Sacraments, Outreach, and Reading the Bible.
At WPC, children ages 3 through 5thgrade, and many teen and adult volunteers, along with children, teen and adults from our covenant congregation, St. Bede Catholic Church, enjoy an exciting week full of Music, Crafts, Snacks, Recreation, Art and Science. There is plenty of fellowship, as well as a local mission project.
VBS typically takes place each week day from 9am to noon, during the last week in June.
