We're glad you found us! At Williamsburg Presbyterian Church you can expect to feel welcome. We invite you to visit anytime in Williamsburg, across from the College of William & Mary. Come worship with us, attend a concert or class, join us in fellowship, or become a member. No matter where you are in your faith journey, there is a place for you here.
*Live streamed. **Broadcast on WMBG 740 AM, 93.5 FM or wmbgradio.com.
We hold worship services of approximately 1 hour in length at 9:30 and 11am throughout the year. Both services are liturgically the same except for the children's message at 11am. There are education classes and groups for all ages throughout the church at 9:30am. Children's education is located on the Second Floor, and for adult class locations, please click here. From 10:30-11am there is coffee and fellowship in Stevenson Hall-just follow the crowd and the noise.
Located at 215 Richmond Road, across from the College of William & Mary and a stone’s throw from Colonial Williamsburg, the church is situated in a vibrant area. Parking on a Sunday morning is available in two lots behind the church on Prince George Street, or if they are full, there is street parking on Richmond Road and nearby access roads like Armistead and Scotland. If you are physically capable of a two-block walk, you can park at the Williamsburg Public Library. Please note that Triangle Restaurant lot across the street is in use by the businesses on Sunday mornings and you may be towed if you park there.
You can enter the church through either the front doors off Richmond Road, or the back doors off Prince George St. When entering through the back, there is a stairway in front of you, and an elevator immediately to your left (take it up to 1A to access the main level). Proceed straight ahead towards the double doors in front of you. You should see an usher stationed at those doors, who will direct you to the Sanctuary on your left.
Worship at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church reflects the Reformed Tradition we are rooted within as a member of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Here are some elements of worship to expect:
First, we come from all walks of life. We come dressed in suits and ties and dresses, and we come dressed in khakis or jeans and a nice top. Regardless, we come as we are to worship the Almighty. (Click here for specifics about children and their participation in worship.)
Second, we are guided in worship with a bulletin (similar to a program), which an usher will hand you as you enter. The bulletin indicates the rhythm of worship, from asterisks when we stand, page numbers for the hymns we sing (hymnals are either in front of you or beneath your pew), and bolded font for when we all pray and speak as one community. For more detail about worship, check out our brochure "A WPC Welcome on Sunday Morning"
Finally, should you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to ask someone you sit beside, an usher or greeter, or one of the pastors!
We offer childcare from 9 am – noon each Sunday morning throughout the year. The nursery is for children ages three and under.
