Good Friday

For us, it’s almost impossible to view Good Friday without the knowledge that Easter is around the corner. Our position in time means we get to have the hindsight of knowing Jesus would not remain dead, but would rise again. Hope is easy when you know what will happen. It’s very difficult to understand the depth of despair and confusion Jesus’ followers must have felt today.

However, we’re also in a time of uncertainty and difficulty. A question both Jesus’s followers and we share right now is why is this happening? Where is God among all this hopelessness?

Just like those who had followed Jesus until Good Friday, today we don’t know what will happen next. Just as Jesus’s followers faced their own fears and struggles, let’s take a moment and pay attention to what we are feeling right now.

How do you feel spiritually right now? How is your soul?

What is something you are struggling with?

What does it mean to trust God through uncertainty?
