Our Deacons Part 1

This week we introduce four deacons in the class of 2023 as part of an ongoing profile of our leaders.
Andy Andre
Andy Andre grew up in the Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, MI. He attended Calvin College and became a Navy pilot, serving in Vietnam. He later taught business administration and business law. In 2011, Andy and his wife, Nancy, moved to Williamsburg, where they live at Colonial Heritage. At his previous church, Andy served in several capacities, including as an elder; he is happy to continue his service as a deacon.

Cherie Brown
Cherie Brown is from Los Angeles, CA, where she attended Hollywood Presbyterian Church. She majored in Christian Education at Wheaton College in Illinois and is an accomplished musician (she has taught music and plays in our bell choirs). She and her husband, Bruce, came to Williamsburg in 2015.

Nancy Kistler
Nancy Kistler joined WPC in 1995 following her retirement. She was raised in the Midwest and has lived in Colorado and Pennsylvania. Following her teaching career, she used her skills as a volunteer for Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement. Nancy lives at Williamsburg Landing, and brings her love of people to her work as a deacon.

Jim Loy
Jim Loy grew up in Altoona, PA, attending Broad Avenue Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Kay, moved to Williamsburg in 2005 after Jim retired from government service with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security. He continued to work for several years as a consultant; he now focuses on spending time with family and serving the church.
